Forms a low mound of gray-green， narrow foliage with leaves that twist slightly at the end. The nodding buds look like snakes at the tips of the stems， before they straighten to form 1.75 in. to 2 in. rounded clusters of light amethyst purple flowers. Blooms for about a month.
