Plant African Irises in an area that receives at least 6 - 8 hours of sunlight daily. Native to tropical, Mediterranean, and subtropical climates.
From Spring into Fall white flowers that last one day will form. Bright spots of lavender and yellow appear against and matte white flower.
Water thoroughly twice per week until established, then water once per week. Once established the African Iris is drought tolerant, but a lack of water may lead to a lack of flowers.
Fertilize every spring with slow-release fertilizer following the manufacturers guidelines. Prune any dead of dying foliage and remove any fallen stems and leaves from the base of the plant.
Remains hardy in USDA Zones 8-11
Can be grown in pots and containers and are perfect on a deck or patio. It is an easy to care for plant that both experienced and notice gardeners alike can grow well.
