The 4 in. x 10 in. Louvered Oak Wood Flushmount Register is designed to work with 3/4 in. tongue and groove hardwood strip flooring. The unfinished oak allows for staining to match exisiting flooring. The damper box is made from a high impact plastic， not metal which can rust and seize up. This is not a cheaper option， it's the best option. Installation instructions included in each package - please review before installing.
