Baldwin pears are semi-hard， sweet pears great for canning or desserts. The pears are medium-sized and yellow and ripen in early fall. They are moderately blight and spot resistant and the tree is low chill for the South. The Baldwin requires 150 chill hours. Hood or Orient pear trees make good pollinators for Baldwin.
